So I’ll be slowly splitting the difference between my Etsy Shop and my new Art Fire Shop in the coming months.  I’m coming to realize that customer service and communication is sorely lacking over at Etsy… all right.  I’ve known this for a while.  Art Fire is still in beta, runs slower, and is brand new.  Hopefully it’ll grow into a great place to sell as Etsy had the potential to do also when it was still in beta, running slowly, and was brand new.  We’ll see.  But anyway, that’s what the new button is about on the right there.  It’s also on my website.  Check it out.

I’ve really become quite the slacker in posting finished items here.  I tend to jump right into the next project… or 7.  This is exactly what I did this time too… with the holidays looming there are too many things to crochet.  We’ll get to that a little later on though.

Here’s the Clay Lady all finished and in her glory.  We’re trying to come up with a name for her though, so any suggestions would be fabulous.

I’ve been making progress on this doll for the Etsy DAMs (dolls and miniatures) team.  I’ve just been really really bad at posting them.  Here’s the second layer of the dress.

Here’s the lady and her dress from the front.  She just needs a few flowers on her person, a big beaded one on the base, and I think I’m going to make her a hood too.

Here’s the 4th (and final) doll from the Crammed Organisms show.  She’s also on page 120 of the book.

A little about Beaver Girl: Beaver Girl is a fishing enthusiast. She finds it easier to swim for her fish, being part beaver and all, rather than using a traditional fishing pole.

She is crochet out of acrylic yarn and stuffed with new premium, polyester fiberfill. Her hair, eyes, lips, top, fishing line, and fish are all crochet out of cotton and sewn securely on. Beaver Girl measures about 12 inches (30.5 cm) tall from head to the tip of her tail and 5 inches (12.7 cm) wide.

The third doll from my Crammed Organisms entry, Serpentina is a big fan of dark and dreary days. She revels in the gloom and anguish of others. She’s also been known to slither around and creep out old ladies with her gut maw of doom.

She is crochet out of acrylic yarn and stuffed with new premium, polyester fiberfill. Her hair, eyes, lips, top, rattle, snake belly, and gut of doom are all crochet out of cotton and sewn securely on. Serpentina measures about 11 inches (27.9 cm) tall and 5.5 inches (14 cm) wide. Her tail is attached to her body.

Dino Dame enjoys relaxing from a hard week’s worth of stomping on villages with a cold beverage and perhaps some TV time. (Taken from page 120 of the Crammed Organisms Book)

She is crochet out of acrylic yarn and stuffed with new premium, polyester fiberfill. Her hair, eyes, lips, top, beverage, claws, and horns are crochet out of cotton and sewn securely on. Dino Dame measures about 9 inches (22.9 cm) tall and 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide.

I just got her back from the Crammed Organisms show… along with the Crammed Organisms book.  It’s very very cool by the way.   Jen the Tri-Headed Cheerleader is featured on page 120 of the Crammed Organisms book and participated in the shows.

Here’s a little about Jen:
Jen used to be a normal girl, but then she stepped into radioactive goo. Thus she was transformed into a three headed cheerleader. She is her own cheer squad and has been known to show up at random sporting events to cheer.

She is crochet out of acrylic yarn and stuffed with new premium, polyester fiberfill. Her hair, eyes, lips, tentacle arms, and horns are crochet out of cotton and sewn securely on. Jen measures about 14 inches (35.6 cm) tall and 7 inches (17.8 cm) wide.

She’s currently for sale up at the Etsy shop.  Check her out if you get a chance!

Yeah… I just realized that I haven’t blogged about this amazing project yet.  I know.  I’m a slacker.  So mealymonster made the clay and hair part.  Yes.  You can say it.  She’s very, very, very talented.

I attached the clay torso to an old doll stand that I just happened to have laying around, using the wire that mealymonster left hanging off of the torso.  Now she can stand up.

Here’s a close-up of that… in case you needed to see it better.  Ha!

Then I crochet the 1st layer of what will become a tentacle dress.  This was done with acrylic yarn, pipe cleaners, and some super glue.  Notice the side profile view and then the front.  I’m currently working on the 2nd layer of this dress, which will most likely be seaweedy and done out of crochet cotton.
